The activities of Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche

Welcome to the first Dakini Day Digest of 2018! From all here at Samye Institute we’d like to wish you a Happy New Year! This year Rinpoche’s teaching tour has started already with a trip to Singapore to conduct a 2-day teaching retreat on “A Heap of Jewels”, a precious text with pith instructions by Guru Padmasambhava. Later this month Rinpoche will travel to Hong Kong to continue his teaching tour of Asia as well as preside over the Annual Pujas at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery.
This month we are also excited to announce that members of our Sangha have released a full English translation of “History of the Jarung Kashor Stūpa”, for which the full announcement and translation are linked below.
Coming up in February this year we are pleased to announce the “2018 International Sangha Yogi Ordinations & Samaya Training” which will be held at Asura Cave, Nepal. Read more about this exciting opportunity below.

Jarung Kashor Stūpa aka Boudhanath Stupa
It is with great joy that we announce that the full English translation of the History of the Jarung Kashor Stūpa, otherwise known as the Boudhanath Stupa, is now available. Auspiciously, the release of this translation coincides with the Tibetan Year of the Bird – the same year in which, generations ago, the precious Jarung Kashor was first completed and consecrated.

Global Magnetizing Accumulation
Five months ago, Rinpoche requested that all his students take up the magnetizing practice entitled “Giant Cloud of Blessings” as part of their daily practice.
“Learning how to work together to make very vast aspirations as a global Sangha to magnetize excellent conditions for Dharma resounding and all pure aspirations to be fulfilled.”

~ Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche
Since last Dakini Day, we have accumulated an extra 15,260 recitations, that’s more than twice as many as the previous month! Well done everyone! This brings our grand total to 40,390 recitations. We’re still a long way from reaching our goal, so let’s push hard! We encourage everyone to participate in this powerful magnetizing activity.
Click here to watch the video message from Rinpoche, read more about the practice and record your accumulations.

Samye Institute Platform Winter Fundraiser Update
It’s been 2 months now since we launched our Winter Fundraiser. To date we have received a total of $22,295 from 97 donors. That’s completes almost 30% of our goal to raise $80,000 by the Lunar New Year.
Thanks to each and everyone of you for your generous donations.
Rinpoche's Calligraphy of the seed syllable HŪṂ (HUNG)
In support of the mission of Samye Institute, Phakchok Rinpoche has crafted a small number of pieces of calligraphy of the seed syllable HŪṂ (HUNG). This seed syllable is said to represent the awakened mind and is found in many mantras. We have included a snapshot of one of these beautiful pieces.
At the end of the Winter Fundraiser, we will be holding a drawing to determine the recipients of these special pieces. Everyone who donates to the Samye Winter Fundraiser will be entered in the drawing. The winners will be chosen randomly from an algorithmic based drawing. For each dollar donated, you will receive one entry into the drawing.
Don’t miss your opportunity to receive one of these exquisite pieces.
