The activities of Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche

This month the annual Vajra Claw Puja concluded auspiciously on the 18th of May at Vajra Varahi Monastery in Chapagaon, Nepal. It is one of six pujas conducted every year, from May to December, by Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche’s monks.
We are honored to announce the first of a three-year series of teachings, at the request of Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche, by Khenpo Sönam Tobgyal Rinpoche on Khenpo Ngawang Palzang’s (Khenpo Ngakchung) commentary to the Words of My Perfect Teacher. The teachings will be held at Gomde Cooperstown in New York this coming summer (details below).
Finally in this issue, we present the new, revised second edition ebook by Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche: A Glimpse of Buddhadharma, in which Rinpoche gives further explanation on several points, along with additional extensive notes and glossaries.

Teachings on Khenpo Ngakchung’s commentary to
The Words of My Perfect Teacher
Gomde Cooperstown New York July 5th - 8th
We are honored to announce the first of a three-year series of teachings, at the request of Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche, by Khenpo Sönam Tobgyal Rinpoche on Khenpo Ngawang Palzang’s (Khenpo Ngakchung) commentary to the Words of My Perfect Teacher. Khenpo Ngawang Palzang was an emanation of Vimalamitra and a disciple of Mipham Rinpoche, the disciple of Patrul Rinpoche , author of the Words of My Perfect Teacher, the seminal Nyingma commentary on the preliminary practices. His main teacher was Nyoshul Lungtok – Mipham Rinpoche’s heart son – whose reincarnation Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche was both Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche’s and Khenpo Sönam Tobgyal Rinpoche’s root teacher. We are thus extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to receive this precious and foundational text in such auspicious circumstances. We hope many can join us in Gomde Cooperstown for the first in a series of three teaching weekends with Khenpo Sönam Tobgyal Rinpoche.

Vajra Claw—Dorjé Dermo—Dakini Puja at Vajra Varahi Monastery
from The Seven Cycles of Profundity
From the 16th to the 18th of May (Western Calendar), our monks at Vajra Varahi Monastery in Chapagaon, Nepal performed the three day Vajra Claw puja, which concluded on the Full Moon Day of the third month according to the Tibetan Calendar.
Vajra Claw is a wrathful female activity dakini. The Buddha originally revealed Vajra Claw to be a powerful guardian and protector. Accordingly, Vajra Claw is invoked to this day in order to protect the practitioners’ domestic space, their family, their friends and their allies and to avert any obstacles that might threaten them.
