Dakini Day Digest

April 29 · Issue #29 · View online
Monthly roundup of activities from the global community of Samye Institute and Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche.

This month Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche’s activity was centered in Nepal, with a five-days drupchö (accomplishment practice) of the Tukdrub Barché Künsel and the Tukdrub Sampa Lhündrup in Rasuwa.
Looking forward, we are glad to announce the official program for the 2019 summer retreats in Gomde Cooperstown. Also, in this issue of the Dakini Day Digest, you will find information about the Vajra Claw (Dorje Dermo) puja, the first on the annual schedule of pujas led by the monks of Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche’s Vajra Varahi monastery.
Finally, Samye Institute joyfully extends everyone an invitation to become a supporting member of this hub for Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche’s teaching activities. By becoming a supporting member of Samye, you will have access to all the latest study and practice materials while actively participating in the development of our sangha as a community of scholar-practitioners.

Drupchö in Rasuwa
In the beginning of April, Phakchok Rinpoche traveled with a group of our monastic sangha to the Rasuwa District of Nepal, an area blessed by Guru Rinpoche. The monks and lay people accomplished a five-days drupchö of the Tukdrub Barché Künsel and the Tukdrub Sampa Lhündrup. Additionally, one of our Tibetan medicine doctors (amchis) attended, performed check-ups and distributed medicine to the locals.

Akara Collection
Our teacher, the Buddha, taught that we should chant mantras. Why? We do not have the fortune to meet or encounter the true Buddha immediately, but we can, and do, encounter mantras. The Buddha said that after his parinirvana, he will appear in the form of letters or words. In order to recite a mantra well and experience all its benefits, one needs an appropriate mala with all the correct characteristics.
These days many different kinds of malas are available. However, it is thought that the best mala is the bodhi seed mala, as the scriptures state that mantras chanted using the bodhi seed mala will be multiplied infinitely.

Global Magnetizing Accumulation
Rinpoche has requested that all his students, and all who are inspired to do so, recite the Giant Cloud of Blessings, or Wang Dü magnetizing supplication as part of their daily practice. This supplication, composed by Ju Mipham Rinpoche, brings enormous benefit.
Our grand total at the moment is 128,332 recitations.
We are proud to announce that our Global Accumulation page is now also available in Vietnamese. To see it in other languages, click the flag next to your username on the top right corner.
