The activities of Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche

This month Kyabgön Phakchok Rinpoche traveled to Wyoming, USA for the Medicine and Compassion Retreat in Jackson Hole. After the retreat, Rinpoche and Erric Solomon began the USA tour for Radically Happy, speaking to an audience of 350 people. On Oct 16, Phakchok Rinpoche concluded his visit to Wyoming by offering a teaching on the accumulation of merit to our local sangha in Jackson.
There was a lot of activity in Nepal over the course of the month. From the 10th to 19th of October, the Pemayangtse monastery held the Le'u-Dun Bhum-Ther Monlam Chenmo, which ended auspiciously on Guru Rinpoche Day. In addition, Tulku Migmar Tsering led three programs in Nepal. First, he led a group in making charitable offerings to the elderly in Pokhara. Following that he gave Dharma advice to the young monks of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling. Finally, he gave teachings to the Nekhor pilgrimage group. We also have shared photos from Khenpo Gyaltsen’s teaching series, which he gave to our lay practitioners in Boudha.
Finally, we received some sad news this month. Lodi Gyari Rinpoche passed away on October 29th. He was a guide and an inspiration for many. He was known for his wise counsel, his tireless service of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his lifelong dedication to the Tibetan cause and the tradition of Guru Rinpoche. He will be greatly missed.

Recent Events
Phakchok Rinpoche visited Jackson Hole, Wyoming from October 10th to 16th. During that time, he held the second Medicine and Compassion Retreat (http://davidshlim.com/medicine-compassion/) with David R Shlim MD. At this gathering of 25 health-related professionals (which included psychiatrists, psychologists, general medicine practitioners, philanthropists, refugee health advocates, cardiologists and lawmakers), Phakchok Rinpoche articulated the breadth and depth of the aspects required for developing compassion and great compassion. At this beautiful location, within sight of the stunning Teton mountains, Rinpoche and the retreatants were visited twice by a gentle snowfall and once by a family grizzly bears.

Nekhor Shares a Tribute to Lodi Gyari Rinpoche
Lodi Gyari Rinpoche, who passed away on October 29th, was a guide and inspiration for all of us at Nekhor. We were deeply impressed by his wise counsel, tireless service of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and lifelong dedication to the Tibetan cause, as well as to the tradition of Guru Rinpoche.
Today, on the auspicious occasion of Lha Bab Düchen, the festival commemorating the Buddha’s descent from heaven, our Pema Jungne translation team offers three new translations dedicated to his memory:
A Prayer of Aspiration for the Copper-Coloured Mountain of Glory

Global Magnetizing Accumulation
Rinpoche has requested that all his students, and all who are inspired to do so, recite the Giant Cloud of Blessings, or Wang Dü magnetizing supplication as part of their daily practice. This supplication, composed by Ju Mipham Rinpoche, brings enormous benefit. He would like us as a global sangha to accumulate 1 million of these prayers annually!
Our grand total at the moment is 83,706 recitations.
Phakchok Rinpoche recently explained to students at Gomde Denmark why we should regularly practice this magnetizing supplication.
Please find the video of explanation under the link below:

May we live for hundreds of years and see hundreds of teachers,

And through the three superior trainings, may we always uphold the precious teachings of the Conqueror,

namkha jisi shyen chir dzinpar shok
For as long as space exists, and for the benefit of others!

May the glorious gurus, who are the very face and embodiment of all the buddhas,
རིས་མེད་བསྟན་པ་འཛིན་ཀུན་འཚོ་གཞེས་ཤིང་།  །

And all the holders of the non-sectarian teachings live long,
ཆོས་འཁོར་རྒྱུན་ཆད་མེད་པར་བསྐོར་བ་ཡིས།  །

And by turning the wheel of the Dharma without interruption,
འཇིག་རྟེན་གསུམ་པོ་རྟག་ཏུ་སྣང་བྱེད་ཤོག  །

May they always illuminate the three worlds, now and forever!
